The Iraqi Mutual Aid Society helps a variety of Iraqi's
(usually refugees) to assimilate to life in the United States . In order to assist
this purpose, they put together a gift basket that contains some kitchen items,
and provides them with classes on American Culture as well as offering children
classes on Arabic.
Joshua
Tyack, an employee at Iraqi Mutual Aid, works on assisting the refugees and
other Iraqi's in finding a job. He says that it is his job to offer a path to
the middle class.
He does this
by finding people jobs befitting their skill levels and helping them work their
way up as they see fit. The higher their skill levels, the more he is able to
do. They help people put together cover letters, put together an American
resume, and find out what classes are needed to keep the degrees or certificates
up to date once they are in the country.
