Winter Weather Prep: Behind the Scenes
The Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation is deploying 200 snow plows and salt spreaders to help keep Chicago streets safe and passable. Snow removal efforts are currently focused on main or arterial streets. Vehicles will be redeployed to side and residential streets when main routes are cleared. Snow Command is managing citywide snow removal with support from community-based Division offices.
