RP Chamber interviewed about local businesseshttps://t.co/eSQEdhRyBe
“The money stays in our local economy and our job is to stimulate the local economy,” Morton said. “For every $100 you spend at locally owned businesses, $68 will stay in the community. What happens when you spend that same $100 at a national chain? Only $43 stays in the community.”
Loyola students are integral to this stimulation, according to Morton.

Rogers Park Pokemon Go Meetup!
"If you're like my kids, my staff or hundreds of people in our neighborhood, you may have spent some time over the past week running around catching little monsters on your phone.
While at first glance it seems to be a silly game, it has brought people together in incredibly unique ways, encouraging groups to explore our neighborhoods, interacting with people they may have never met otherwise.
My office will be hosting a "meet up" for players in Rogers Park on our lakefront".

Artists of the Wall 2016
The Artists of the Wall Festival initially began as a response to gangs who would continually graffiti the 600-foot sea wall to the point where the park district couldn't keep up maintenance. Now in its 23rd year, this beloved fest is truly a celebration of community, creativity, and music for everyone enjoy.
Held each summer over Father’s Day weekend, neighbors of all ages come together to collaborate on the 600-foot mural at Loyola Park Beach between Farwell and Morse Avenues. The artists finished works remain until May of the following the year, when the wall is again prepped, whitewashed and readied for the next eager participants.
Catch free, live music on the Windform Music Stage from noon to 5:30 each afternoon at the south end of the wall. Roger’s Park favorites, The Pratt Cattz traditionally close the festivities on Sunday. The festival is coordinated by the all-volunteer Loyola Park Advisory Council.
