A message from Pride North Director, Colm Treacy:
"Pride North is a neighborhood festival that welcomes and unites folks of all genders, gender identities, races, sexual identities, ages and backgrounds—our full LGBTQIA rainbow family, friends and supporters.
Pride North is a family, and a diverse community. Any displays of racism, bigotry, transphobia, homophobia, misogyny, or divisive, violent language or actions will not be tolerated. Any attendee, staffer, performer, DJ or guest who violates our unity mission will be removed.
All are welcome. Join us for YOUR neighborhood Pride celebration. Love Wins."
Pride North takes place on Glenwood Avenue, between Morse and Lunt, at the Morse Red Line stop, a few stops north of the Pride Parade. For driving directions use The Glenwood Bar as your GPS.
The Artists of the Wall Festival initially began as a response to gangs who would continually graffiti the 600-foot sea wall to the point where the park district couldn't keep up maintenance. Now in its 23rd year, this beloved fest is truly a celebration of community, creativity, and music for everyone enjoy.
Held each summer over Father’s Day weekend, neighbors of all ages come together to collaborate on the 600-foot mural at Loyola Park Beach between Farwell and Morse Avenues. The artists finished works remain until May of the following the year, when the wall is again prepped, whitewashed and readied for the next eager participants.
Catch free, live music on the Windform Music Stage from noon to 5:30 each afternoon at the south end of the wall. Roger’s Park favorites, The Pratt Cattz traditionally close the festivities on Sunday. The festival is coordinated by the all-volunteer Loyola Park Advisory Council.
