Help us with Fresh Start Mondays!

Fresh Start Monday's have been occurring the first and third Monday's since this April. The event has been a success, having a variety of people attend and even more express interest.

So far, we've covered 7315 N. Sheridan Road, following that, we worked on Jarvis Plaza, Ravenswood Center, Rogers Plaza, corner of Clark and Estes, and the corner of Howard and Bosworth . Our next event will be Monday July 2nd at our standard 6pm. We will be working on the corner of Pratt and Ashland per a request.

If you can't make it out to the events for whatever reason, you can still help! We would gladly take donations for the event. Charmers Cafe, for example, gave us some trash bags to assist us in our endeavor.

Some of the items we need are:

Broom
Dust Pan
Trash Bags
Aprons
Face Masks
Trash Can
Recycle Can

If you'd like to donate any of these items, please, contact us via e-mail at rogersparkchamberofcommerce@gmail.com or call us at (773) 850-0049

Wine Tasting- Tonight!

Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce President, and Autumn Davids, Chamber Secretary, have attended the wine tastings and as they both agreed, the wines were delicious, unique, and the experience was well worth it. The owners were helpful and gracious, the workers checking on those looking at the wines, and the place was crowded with great people, having fun and chatting about the wines, everyblock.com and so much more. We recommend that everyone attend and explore your tastes by tasting wine!

First Annual Silent Auction a Huge Success!!

On June 22nd from 6-8pm, the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce held their first annual Silent Auction at Alden Village North.

Alden Village North had a lovely, and delicious, display of food for those in attendance. There was fruit (the secretary's favorite of watermelon and cantaloupe), chicken caesar salad wraps, and many beverages. We received donations of food from Chipotle and and Morse Gyros making the event a great success!

Most of our items were auctioned or raffled off after our speakers, Nehaz from Earth Center, and David Torrey, former Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society President, spoke in front of our crowd.

A huge thanks to MaryEllen, Christie, and Chris for making this event a great success and being so amazing in the set-up and take-down process.

A big thank you to David and Nehaz for speaking at our event.

Here our some of the photographs from Bill's Digital Photos!

ASI Conference

The Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce, to assist Quest Network Services, attended the ASI Conference. The event was in Itasca, Illinois at the Westin Hotel. Over the next few weeks, you will be seeing images, videos, notes, and other information and materials from this amazing twelve hour event!

The first speaker we heard was LG. They spoke of their recent and upcoming green technology. They also spoke highly of their monitors. Their discussion on their monitors explained how, today, businesses can't control what goes on the screens in their space. With the new technology, they can display ads and information to control the marketing being done in their business.

Although we didn't catch but the tail end of their presentation, the notes are listed below.

  • Advertising
  • Still watch TV
  • Digital Signage trend
  • multi-angle view

Chicago Center for Green Technology

The Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce President, Bill Morton, and Secretary, Autumn Davids, spent Saturday June 16th, between volunteering for the Artists of the Wall Festival, at the Chicago Center for Green Technology's 10th anniversary.

We spoke with LiveRoof, who answered a multitude of our questions. LiveRoof puts a variety of plants on top of the roof's of homes, businesses, organizations, and institutions. The process is pretty simple: They check your roof to insure that there are no problems with leaking or are unable to hold the weight, they then help you pick out appropriate plants and then the work begins.

We also spoke with A Plus Pest. They have pine based chemicals to assist in getting rid of pests that won't harm you or your pets. They also have a nice mattress cover that traps bed bugs and kills them. It's even machine washable, for those who are like me and struggle with non-machine washable items.

There were many other people we spoke with about a multitude of things. Click the images below of the pamphlets we received to have a larger view.
